The ITS Distributed Support Provider implements, supports and monitors the technical infrastructure as well as new servers/architectures/platforms/networks with the aid and support of technical consultants as necessary to resolve end user requests and install, diagnose, repair and maintain all hardware and networking equipment to ensure optimal system performance.
The Data Center Technical Coordinator installs, relocates, and/or de-commissions hardware including cabinets, shelves, power strips, rails, cable management, servers, storage, printers, and other devices in the data center. In addition, this position responds to trouble situations within the Data Center, provides “Remote Hands” assistance as requested by other IT groups and/or third-party business partners, and helps coordinate upgrades, configuration maintenance, and repairs of system hardware.
Consistently and efficiently install, support, and administer Yale ITS current version of digital signage based on the Visix platform (install refers to the addition of the player PC to a prepared signage display location installed by AVSD, not the installation of the display itself). Under supervision of Manager of Audio Visual Systems Design, provide day-to-day operational support, development, and coordination for software and hardware delivery, tier 2 endpoint escalation services, and remote assistance services to all current and new digital signage location at all campus locations.
Under supervision of the Manager of Network Operations, provide day-to-day operational support and coordination for all aspects of the Campus Data Network. Establish and maintain network performance by building net configurations and connections and troubleshooting network problems. Assist in development and maintenance of network communications. Use knowledge of LAN / WAN / WIFI systems to help install and manage internal and external networks.
